SCHOOL TOUR PHOTOS

--FRONT of THE SCHOOL on GREEN STREET--
Recognize this edifice--only thing missing is kids hanging out on the steps and cruisers driving by in front.

--WEST SIDE of SCHOOL on PRAIRIE STREET--
They are parking cars here now--I don't know whether that is an all-time thing or not. This was the site of our graduation ceremonies.

--WEST SIDE of SCHOOL on PRAIRIE STREET--
The old Industrial Arts building. The building to the left is the new boy's gymnasium.

--PASSAGE WAY BETWEEN BUILDINGS--
The transition passage from the main building to the cafeteria and to the new gymnasium.

--SOUTHEAST CORNER of SCHOOL at GREEN and STATE STREET--
Now there is a sign announcing upcoming events.

--NORTHEAST CORNER of SCHOOL on STATE STREET--
Entrance to the old Auto Shop.

--SIGN of the TIMES--
This is posted on the front doors of the school. The doors all have security bars inside. There is only one entrance to the school now.

--THE CAFETERIA--
The new cafeteria is located in the old woodworking shop.

--AUDITORIUM STAGE--
The auditorium--site of plays, musical events, pep rallies, assemblies, baccalaureate.

--BACK of AUDITORIUM--
Back of auditorium and balcony.

--GIRL'S GYMNASIUM--
Remember the little gym under the auditorium? It is now the girl's gym. All the lockers are girl locker rooms. The swimming pool has been filled in. Remember the sock hops where all the girls danced with each other and hoped the boys would ask & the boys wanted to but were too bashful to ask & probably didn't know how to dance?

--TODAY'S CLASSROOM--
Most of you probably had Opal Cunningham for Plane Geometry in this room--248.

--LIBRARY CIRCULATION DESK--
The library is in the same location--the circulation desk is in on the opposite side of the room.

--LIBRARY--
Looking to the North end of the library.

--RESTROOMS TODAY--
No more revolving doors--easier to monitor & control.

--SOLON HOUSE--
This is the Solon house that stands just north of the high school. The house is abandoned now, but has not been removed. If you remember, the Solons owned the north 1/2 of the block where the school is located.
